WE DO
Endurance
Designs is a new company whose mission is to celebrate the history
and adventurous spirit of those people who have dared to venture to
the ends of the earth. Our first tribute is to the legend and epic
tales of Sir Ernest Shackleton, perhaps the greatest figure to come
out of the 'Heroic Age' of Antarctic exploration.
Endurance
Designs produces high quality merchandise (posters, clothing and
cards) based on Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-1916). The trip aboard the ship
“Endurance,” and the epic struggle after it sank, is considered
by many to be the greatest survival saga of the 20th century. The
incredible images made by expedition photographer Frank Hurley
illustrate this amazing story and bring it to life for us almost 90
years later.

WHO
WE ARE
Endurance
Designs is a small team of dedicated individuals committed to
excellence in design and manufacturing. Environmental responsibility
is a guiding principle. Alex Taylor, founder and president of
Endurance Designs, has a long personal association with the
Antarctic and a love of Antarctic history.
Since
1992 Alex Taylor has worked in the Antarctic
as a polar guide and logistician for the British Antarctic
Survey and the National Science Foundation (USA).
Most recently he ventured to South Georgia, Elephant
Island and the Antarctic Peninsula as a safety technician
on the production of the WGBH-Nova/White Mountain Films
productions on Shackleton and the Endurance Expedition.
Watch for the IMAX film now in circulation, and a two
hour television documentary being shown on PBS.

We
have a unique selection of posters and clothing from
Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antartcic Expedition and
will soon be producing much more.
Included in our lineup is posters,
postcards and clothing featuring Frank Hurley photographs
and other unique products that tell this amazing story.
Later in the year, Endurance Designs will also be expanding
its line to include the great stories of other Heroic
Age explorers such as Amundsen and Scott.
The
Antarctic casts a spell over virtually all those who visit or
read about it. This great enthusiasm creates an avid interest in
this most remarkable landscape. The staff at Endurance Designs are no exception. We welcome
your ideas, suggestions and feedback on any Antarctic topic.
